From Wednesday, 15th January 2025, our free local delivery threshold will increase from £15 to £20. This change reflects the fact that the vast majority of local orders are already over £20 but it also helps us manage rising costs - something we’ve absorbed for over five years without increasing candle prices.

We first launched local deliveries during the lockdowns, when we couldn’t access government support, as a way to bring our candles to people across West Cumbria. What started as a simple idea has become a cornerstone of our business, growing in popularity year after year.

Last Christmas, demand for deliveries was higher than ever. We nearly doubled the number of slots available, but even then, we couldn’t meet the need and received many messages from customers hoping to secure a delivery. As a small team, it’s been challenging to balance this growing demand with everything else we do.

James handles many roles within the business, and managing deliveries alongside those responsibilities, especially during busy periods, is becoming increasingly unsustainable. By raising the free delivery threshold, we’re taking the first step towards hiring a dedicated driver. This will allow us to offer more slots and ensure that everyone who wants a delivery can get one.
