ENNERDALE VIEWS
We are delighted to announce the launch of our new and sixth scented soy candle named ENNERDALE VIEWS. Although Ennerdale is fairly close to Lakeland Lights Company’s HQ, it has been relatively unexplored by us until recently, so upon hearing about the real sense of community that pervades throughout Ennerdale we decided to try something entirely different with this candle. Unlike our other candles which are blended and chosen by us, we thought it would be fitting for the people of Ennerdale to choose what they thought should be the scent for this candle. During the month of June, visitors to The Gather Cafe and Shop in Ennerdale Bridge voted to decide on their favourite scent from a shortlist of three. The clear winner recently went into production and we’re excited to announce that it is now available to buy.
ENNERDALE VIEWS is our ode to the beauty of Ennerdale’s scenery and the opinions of the people. The scent chosen by the people is a sophisticated hit of patchouli which partners beautifully with a bergamot citrus twist. We hope you enjoy this new scent as much as we enjoyed the whole process of creating this candle in homage to lovely Ennerdale and its lovely people.
If you haven’t been to Ennerdale yet, then it is well worth a visit as it possesses its own kind of stunning serenity that can rival any of the more well-known Lake District locations. It has definitely become a firm favourite for us at Lakeland Lights Company, and we can often been seen exploring there after a day of candle-making with our dog, Custer.
DERWENT REFLECTIONS
Not only are we launching ENNERDALE VIEWS this month, but we thought we’d give ourselves double the workload by introducing our much awaited candle for Derwent! We’ve been mulling over this one for a long time, as we’re well aware of the affection the public have for this area. Therefore, we felt it was important to get it right.
So without any further waffle, the next scent to join our family of luxury scented candles is called DERWENT REFLECTIONS. The idea behind this candle dates back to a magical misty sunrise walk along the banks of Derwentwater last October. This particular morning had been preceded by a rather wet weekend so we were pleasantly surprised to find the storm had passed and Derwent was completely still. The reflections of the sky, clouds and island on the lake were amazing, and well worth the sogginess of previous few days.
Our aim for our Derwent candle was to create a luxurious and relaxing scented candle that encourages people to reflect on their times at this great Lake District location. The scent itself is a beautiful blend of white jasmine, neroli and ylang ylang. The floral notes makes this candle quite different from all the others in the range, so if you’re passing by one of our lovely stockists, do pop in to have a whiff – we’re sure you won’t be disappointed.
